URGENT UPDATE TO FILMING PLAN TOMORROW!
To our PVSS Grad Families,
Yesterday we shared the unfortunate news that we have lost our booking with the Starlight Drive-In due to changes in a Provincial Health Order. We have included a copy of the Provincial Health Order at the end of this letter. The Drive-In feels that it is not in their best interest to honour the community bookings due to their new challenges but is hopeful that if the situation changes, we might be able to develop a new plan.
We are going ahead with the filming tomorrow – Thursday, May 28. This filming was meant to be graduates only, but in light of the change to the Drive-In plan, we are making some adjustments.
We would like to allow each graduate’s parents to watch them walk across the stage and receive diplomas during the filming. This is similar to the Salmon Arm Secondary plan for their Graduation Ceremony because they were unable to book the Drive-In due to the size of their graduating class. Each graduate should arrive at the school for the assigned time slot. The arrival time is half an hour before the filming time for each group. Parents (or two guests per graduate) may enter the school after the first 20 minutes and line up with their graduate to wait for filming (see schedule below). As each graduate enters the theatre to cross the stage, parents will stand behind the film crew to watch their child and will exit the theatre after their child exits. Because of building occupancy and assembly limits during this time, we are unable to let parents watch the entire filming, but this allows them to watch their child’s part. Photos with Mountain West will be immediately following crossing the stage. Parents may watch these photos as well.
Come to the main doors and check in at the table just outside the office. Parents will wait outside the main entrance, socially distanced, while we get the students organized with caps and gowns.
| Group | Student Arrival | Parent Arrival |
| Aiello to Crandlemire (A to C) | 10:00am | 10:20am |
| Daly to Gunning (D to G) | 10:30am | 10:50am |
| Hadland to Louie (H to L) | 11:00am | 11:20am |
| Marshall to Richoux (M to R) | 11:30am | 11:50am |
| Sandli to Zandlvliet (S to Z) | 12:00pm | 12:20pm |
We are working on additional FUN plans that fit within the parameters we have to follow right now. The cap and gown are purchased as part of the grad fees, and we ask that you take them with you when you leave to save for later.
Thank you so much for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Chelsea Prince, Principal Patti Lemaire, Vice Principal
